Get an expert opinion from our UK based consultant dermatologists
Map My Mole has been designed by dermatologists to meet the increasing demand for skin lesion assessments.
What Is Map My Mole?
Map My Mole allows us to access UK consultant dermatologists for an opinion within 24 -48 hours. Images are reviewed by experts in the field, and reports ensure detailed explanations are provided. If a mole is concerning, the dermatologist will inform the patient providing them with a report that can be sent to their GP to speed up any referral.
our UK based consultant dermatologists
How it works
1. Attend the clinic for a consultation and assessment of the mole/lesion using a dermoscope.
2. We then submit your pictures to be reviewed by Map My Mole's leading consultant dermatologists.
3. Within 24-48 hours a report will be sent, which will determine if we can remove the lesion in clinic or if further investigation needs to be carried out with your GP.
Cryopen
Quick solution to treat simple skin lesions using cryotherapy
Cryotherapy or cryosurgery is a highly safe and effective procedure that is used to freeze and destroy benign skin lesions. The clinic uses Cryopen to perform this treatment.
It uses liquid nitrous oxide to destroy the tissue by freezing the cell fluid which in turn forms ice shards that rupture the cell membrane and in turn destroying the cell and lesion. Cryopen is precise, avoiding healthy surrounding tissue.
Cryotherapy is beneficial as it is quicker than other treatments as can be treated in minutes. It requires no anaesthetic and has minimal to no scarring. There are no limitations on activities ( except protecting the area from damage) and patients can return to normal activities after treatment(s).
The NHS does not routinely fund removal of benign skin lesions so this is the ideal service to use and will be provided by Lisa.
THE MASCED ACCREDITATION PROGRAMME HAS BEEN DEVELOPED BY NATIONAL MELANOMA AND SKIN CANCER CHARITY, SKCIN. THE OBJECTIVE OF THE SCHEME IS TO SIGNIFICANTLY RAISE AWARENESS OF THE EARLY SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF SKIN CANCER AND TO PROMOTE THE EARLY DETECTION OF MELANOMA, TO IMPROVE PROGNOSIS AND SAVE LIVES.
